Mahjong Solitaire spreads 144 tiles in stacked layers. You remove two identical tiles at a time, but only tiles that are free: nothing lying on top, and one side open to the left or right. Pick one of three layouts, and use hints, undo and shuffle when you are stuck. Every deal is built backwards from the layout, so a way to clear the whole table always exists. The tiles are drawn with numbers, letters and symbols. Play Mahjong Solitaire free online in your browser — no download or sign-up needed.

Remove pairs of identical tiles. A tile can be used when nothing lies on top of it and its left or right side is open. Tiles are marked with numbers, letters, shapes and colours, so you never have to rely on colour alone.

How to Play Mahjong Solitaire
Objective
Remove all 144 tiles by matching free pairs.
Starting a game
Choose a layout. Tiles that can be used are bright; blocked tiles look darker.
Rules
A tile is free when no tile lies on top of it and at least one of its left and right sides is open.
Select two free tiles with the same face to remove them.
The flower tile matches only another flower tile, and the season tile only another season tile; each of them appears four times, like every other face.
If you run out of pairs, undo moves or shuffle the remaining tiles.

Winning and losing
You win when the table is empty. If no pair is open the game tells you and offers Undo and Shuffle.
Tips and Strategies
Prefer pairs that uncover the most tiles, especially from tall stacks.
Free the long rows early so that you do not trap tiles in the middle.
When several identical tiles are free, remove the pair that frees the most blocked tiles.
Use the hint to learn what a good move looks like.
The shuffle keeps the same tiles but rearranges them; use it only when you are truly stuck.
