Higher / Lower Cards

Higher / Lower deals you one card and asks a simple question: will the next card be higher or lower? Every correct guess extends your streak; one wrong guess ends it. The game shows the exact chance of each answer, calculated from the cards still in the deck, so you can see when a guess is a safe bet and when it is a gamble. The Ace is high. How to Play Higher / Lower Cards

Objective

Build the longest streak of correct guesses.

Starting a game

The first card is dealt face up from a shuffled deck. Choose Higher or Lower.

Rules

  • Ace is the highest card, two the lowest.
  • If the next card has the same rank, nothing happens: your streak stays and the new card becomes the current card.
  • A wrong guess ends the game.
  • When the deck runs out, a fresh one is shuffled.

Controls

  • Buttons: Higher and Lower
  • Keyboard: ↑ for higher, ↓ for lower, N for a new game

Winning and losing

There is no winning screen; try to beat your best streak.

Tips and Strategies

  • Choose the side with the larger percentage.
  • Remember which cards have been played: the odds change as the deck shrinks.
  • Extreme cards are easy: after a two the next card is higher unless it is also a two.
  • Middle cards such as sevens and eights are risky.
  • A long streak always includes some luck.

Luck plays a part in every game, so no strategy can guarantee a win.
