Block Puzzle

Block Puzzle is a calm placement game. You are given three shapes at a time and drag them onto an eight-by-eight grid. Every time you fill a whole row or column, it clears and gives points, and clearing several lines in a row builds a streak bonus. The game ends when none of the shapes in your tray fit anywhere, so planning where you leave gaps is the heart of it. Play Block Puzzle free online in your browser — no download or sign-up needed.

How to Play Block Puzzle

Objective

Score as many points as possible before no shape in your tray can be placed.

Starting a game

Three shapes appear below the grid. Drag any of them onto an empty part of the board. When all three have been placed, three new shapes appear.

Rules

  • Shapes cannot be rotated.
  • A shape must fit entirely inside the grid and on empty squares.
  • Each cell placed scores a point. Completing a row or column removes it and scores a bonus that grows with the number of lines cleared and with your streak of consecutive clearing moves.
  • The game tries to offer shapes that can all be placed on the current board.

Controls

  • Mouse: drag a shape onto the grid
  • Touch: drag a shape (it floats above your finger)

Winning and losing

There is no winning screen; the game ends when no remaining shape fits. Your score is compared with your best.

Tips and Strategies

  • Keep large open areas rather than scattering single holes around the board.
  • Check the three shapes before placing the first one; the order often matters.
  • Aim for moves that clear two lines at once to build a bigger bonus.
  • Avoid leaving isolated empty squares; only small shapes fit them.
  • The preview highlights lines that would clear, so use it before you let go.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I rotate pieces?

No, shapes are placed exactly as shown.

Is my game saved?

Yes, the board, your tray and your score are stored in your browser, so you can continue after closing the page.

How does the streak work?

Each move that clears at least one line raises the streak; a move that clears nothing resets it.
